Now available...book "Dancing On Clouds" for a breathtaking first dance!
You may be as involved as you'd like in the music selection for your Wedding Reception. Normally, couples will provide some type of music list, usually between 5 and 30 songs. On average during the dancing portion of a reception, we play anywhere between 40 and 50 songs. This is why depending on the length of your list, we ask that you have 15 to 20 must plays, then the DJs will know which songs are most important.
Two DJs are provided at every wedding so we can help coordinate everything with you and the vendors you've hired. We will find the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen for the Bridal Party Dance, and we will let you know before any important activities happen. This will keep your reception running smooth. Also for couples who'd like our DJs to be interactive, two DJs allow one to pass out party props, teach dances, and interact with your guests while the other DJ continues to play music.
Our all-inclusive wedding package includes up to 6 total hours of playing time. This works well because most banquet halls provide packages between 5 & 6 hours. After 8 hours of playing time, overtime is always available for $75 per 1/2 hour.
Depending on availability, Ceremonies and Wedding Receptions are booked anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 years in advance…most couples book between 6 and 18 months in advance. We perform at up to 11 Receptions a night, so the earlier you book with us the better chance you have securing the specific DJ you were recommended or referred to.
We guarantee 100% of your requests! As long as we have your final song list one month prior to the wedding, and the music is available to buy.
We have fog machines, bubble machines, and confetti cannons available at no extra cost. Be sure to check with your banquet facility to verify they allow them (most do not).
As many as you need! Most couples will have a minimum of two meetings, one initial meeting, and another, (final meeting) at least one month prior to the wedding to set all the specific details. However, if you need to come in for more meetings to listen to music or to ask any questions, give us a call!
Many couples prefer to meet in person. We do have three appointment locations for your convenience in Oak Lawn, Joliet and Lombard by appointment: Monday - Thursday, 9:00AM - 10:00PM. However, if you are unable to make it into one of our offices, we can always have a phone consultation to go through any details and to answer any and all questions.
We also offer on-line meetings / webinars.
You can join us via webinar for your initial or final meeting on-line. You will be able to view everything as if you were in office with us from your home or wherever your internet connection may be. This is the preferred method for out of town couples, military couples or busy couples that cannot make it into one of our offices.
There are a few ways to pick a particular DJ. If you have seen a DJ perform in the past we could always check their availability for your date. You can set up a meeting in our office where you could view a video of a specific available DJ in action. If you'd like to set up a consultation, please call our office at (815) 267-8533.
NO. Since a majority of our bookings are referral based, we do not charge any extra fee for requesting a specific DJ. In fact, if you have seen someone perform, we’d prefer to assign that specific DJ to your wedding!
There is no extra cost for setup or breakdown of equipment. We charge only for the actual time we play.
The DJs do not take breaks, this is one of the many reasons Tone provides 2 DJs at each reception. By doing this we can play non-stop throughout the entire event.
YES! Along with a playlist you can make a DO-NOT-PLAY list, including any song titles, artists, or styles of music you would not like to hear. Our DJ’s are very strict in making sure we abide by these lists, after all, it’s YOUR wedding!
If you are unsure of the title or artist of a song, ASK! Our office staff would be more than happy to research anything for you. Just let us know as much as you know about the song, and we'll go from there!
Yes! Performing in Downtown Chicago requires 3 to 4 hours extra set-up and breakdown time. And parking can range from $25 to $65. There are many factors that determine our travel fee. Our office manager calculates the distance from where the DJ travels, not from our Main office, the day of the week, weather based on past experience, holiday and special events that take place throughout the city and suburbs of Chicago. Please call our office for specific fees.
The deposit to reserve your date is $700.00, this secures everything. The balance is due 20 days prior to the night of your reception.
We accept personal check, cash, or credit card. Final payment must be secured/approved before the date of the event for contract to remain valid.
For the dancing portion of the evening typically we play 4-6 slow songs. If there are other slow songs or ballads that you would like to be played, we suggest adding them to the cocktail or dinner hour.
In Illinois there is no sales tax on services. This means the agreed upon fee is the absolute final price; everything is included. Gratuity or tipping for our DJs is not mandatory. If you feel the DJs have surpassed your expectations, and you'd like to further thank them, feel free to tip them. The DJs would love the compliment.
